It’s crazy hot outside. Fortunately, July is National Ice Cream Month, so here’s a cool-down guide that includes some of our favorite flavors as well as some recipes that provide a twist on the usual cup-or-cone options.

While you’re sweating from dawn to dusk, take a break to experiment with some mouthwatering ice cream flavors that tickle the taste buds. Check out these creative recipes for sweet corn and bacon, toasted marshmallow, root beer float, and balsamic strawberry.

Now, how will you serve your sweet treat? How about an edible bowl or a cool cone? Try these ideas for creative containers:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Cone — Use your favorite cookie recipe to bake a giant cookie. As soon as it comes out of the oven, wrap it into a cone shape and allow it to cool.

Bacon Cone — Wrap one or two slices of bacon around a cone-shaped mold, making sure that if you use two slices, they overlap. Bake them in the oven until crisp. Allow them to cool, then fill with an uber-sweet ice cream.

Apple Bowl — Hollow out an apple from the top, making sure to take out all of the seeds. Fill with your favorite ice cream!

Cookie Dough Bowl — Put some cookie dough into muffin tins so that it lines the edges but leaves room in the middle for ice cream. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool, then fill and serve!
