Your New Roadside Assistance Program

By Kristy Alpert 2.4.19

Whether you’re a long-distance traveler, college commuter, or rush hour regular, the side of the road can be a lonely place if you don’t have someone to help you out when you need it.

That’s why Texas Farm Bureau Insurance has launched a new roadside assistance program that provides policyholders with 24-hour service while on the road or at home.

How It Works

The service has already helped hundreds of Texas Farm Bureau Insurance policyholders get back on the road. Once enrolled in the program, all you need to do is call 1-833-TFB-ROAD to get the service you need right away. From there, a service professional will be dispatched to help get your vehicle back on the road or provide a tow to a garage or service station.

The plan covers up to $120 per disablement; Texas Farm Bureau Insurance is directly billed for the service to ensure you won’t even see a bill if the total amount is lower than $120. Customers are only responsible for charges in excess of the $120 limit, or when services are provided for a vehicle not covered by the current auto insurance plan.

How It Helps

“I encourage all of my policyholders to take advantage of the low cost and convenience of the program, especially for wives and daughters,” says Kathy Winters, a Texas Farm Bureau Insurance agency manager in Clifton.

“We’ve all had roadside situations, and the peace of mind knowing that someone is on the way to help you is very reassuring. With extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, you want to make sure help gets there as quickly as possible.”

What It Offers

If you’re enrolled in the roadside assistance program, you’ll have access to useful services and helping hands without having to go out of pocket immediately. The program covers:

  • Service for lockouts, breakdowns, flat tires, running out of gas, getting stuck in the mud, and more.
  • Towing to a garage or service station where repairs can be made when the covered vehicle is not drivable.
  • Delivery of gasoline (up to 2 gallons) or oil, flat-tire service, battery boost, and jumpstart.
  • Locksmith services to unlock a covered vehicle if a key is lost, stolen, or locked inside.
  • Up to one hour of labor for roadside assistance services to a covered vehicle at the place of disablement.
  • Winching service to remove a covered vehicle that is stuck on or immediately next to a public road.
